A star ceiling installation is a fixed-location project. The fiber optic strands exit the panel and connect to a light engine installed above the ceiling or in an adjacent space. You do not move it once it's installed. The process is clearer when approached as an installation — structural, methodical — rather than a decor project.

Before you start: the fixed sequence
A star ceiling install has a fixed order. Each step assumes the one before it is complete and cannot be meaningfully adjusted once you move forward.
- Measure and confirm ceiling grid or drop ceiling compatibility
- Plan panel layout on paper
- Order the kit that matches your panel count
- Prepare ceiling access and routing path for fiber bundles
- Install panels into the grid
- Route fiber bundles to the light engine location
- Connect fiber bundles to the light engine
- Mount the light engine in the designated space
- Test operation and adjust star brightness if needed
Step 1: Measure your ceiling grid
Star ceiling panels are designed to replace standard drop ceiling tiles. They install into the same T-bar grid used for standard acoustic tiles.
